Behind those words is recognition of the commitment our Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme employees bring to work every day.

It's also recognition of everything happening behind the scenes. He sees the employee support, the wellbeing programs and the additional training that sit behind every placement.

Because when you're supported, you can focus on doing your best work. And it's rewarding to know that the effort you put in every day is seen, valued and making a difference.

Mick Seduadua, RWM's Cultural Welfare Officer, is one of the first faces PALM scheme employee see stepping off the plane. What they might not know is that Mick made that exact journey himself back in 2009, leaving behind a successful finance career in Fiji and starting again from zero in Australia, all for his kids.

He worked at an abattoir, then in factories, before eventually finding his way into finance and then welfare work at RWM, the kind of role that finally felt like more than a job.

"I felt an obligation to look after our Pacific Islanders through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme. I knew I could help in this space," he said.

These days, Mick is the voice on the other end of RWM's 24/7 pastoral care line, someone who knows exactly what it's like to be far from home for the first time, because he's lived it too.
