This is Part 1 of a 2 part series documenting the build of my DIY Floating Music Studio Room inside the garage of our rental home we moved into last year.

After getting the green light from our landlord to construct a floating room (meaning it's not fixed to the main structure of the house or garage) I began bringing this vision to life. My goal was to create a multi-purpose space within the garage and a studio space where I could record vocals, mix, and produce music at any hour without disturbing the neighbours or my family.

I spent weeks watching YouTube videos, doing my own research, and experimenting through trial and error. I filmed as much of the process as possible, and this video is the result so far.

The build took place over five months, on random days when I had the time and funds to keep going. Grateful to my love Shana Ahmed & our kids, who jumped in to help whenever I needed a hand :D Right now, the studio is about 70% complete.

Part 2 of this series will cover the remaining parts of the build and should be up in the next month or two, God willing.

Watching other creators’ videos helped me a great deal with ideas, planning, and inspiration. I wanted to pay that forward by sharing my own journey, hoping it helps someone else in the same way.
