Last week, our managing director Jo Kitney spent a wonderful evening connecting with the French-Australian business community at their first Tchin Tchin gathering of the year hosted by the FACCI - French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry 🥂

Events like these are always a great reminder of how valuable it is to step away from the day-to-day and spend time building relationships across industries.

It was wonderful to see familiar faces and new members of the community sharing ideas and conversations at the InterContinental Brisbane!

WHS Compliance Campaign Rolling Out Across Queensland 🚨

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is launching a statewide compliance campaign targeting industries including construction, transport and warehousing.

Inspectors will be visiting workplaces across Queensland to review how Work Health and Safety (WHS) risks are being managed.

🔎 What inspectors will be looking at:
- Plant, machinery and tools
- Racking and lifting equipment
- Electrical safety
- Maintenance and servicing
- Training and competency
- Use of PPE
- How procedures are followed onsite

Inspections are typically walkthroughs rather than formal audits. Inspectors may speak with workers, review training records, assess risk controls, and issue improvement notices where required.

The key message?
WHS must be understood, applied, and actively managed, not just documented.

The regulator is proactive and expects businesses to meet their WHS obligations. Having clear systems, strong leadership, and informed workers makes these visits far smoother.
