This person had charged more than 1,000 visa applicants a lot of money for immigration advice, telling them to apply for a Protection visa despite knowing they were not eligible and would be refused.

This was not only illegal; it also caused unnecessary delays to the applications of asylum seekers and others who genuinely need Australia’s protection.

Under Australian law, only registered migration agents and Australian legal practitioners can charge a fee for providing immigration assistance.
