This World Ocean Day, we’re shining a light on our friends at , who are giving our oyster shells a second life.

Through their Shell Recycling Program, used oyster shells from Fiume and Howard Smith Wharves are collected and repurposed to support oyster reef restoration projects in Moreton Bay, helping create habitat for marine life and contributing to healthier waterways.

So next time you’re enjoying one (or a dozen), know the story doesn’t end when the shell leaves your plate.
