Even now, women still carry so much pressure to be perfect.

I see it at weddings all the time. The dress, the flowers, the timeline, the photos… the quiet feeling that everything has to be just right.

But the truth is, many of us were raised to believe that being good meant being organised, accommodating, beautiful, calm… and never dropping the ball.

So when people say “just relax and enjoy it,” it isn’t always that simple.

Letting go is a practice.
A soft unlearning.

And the beautiful thing I often see during ceremonies is that moment when it finally happens… when the bride looks at her person, laughs, and remembers what the day is actually about.

Not perfection.
Just love.
I’m getting better at it with age.. but it’s still hard at times .. how about you?

Women loving women will always be powerful.

As Kate Winslet has spoken about so beautifully — when we stop tearing ourselves apart and start standing confidently in who we are, everything shifts.

Love yourself first.
Not in an arrogant way — in a grounded, “I know my worth” way.

And from that place?
Be complimentary. Be generous with praise. Lift the women around you.

There is room for all of us.
Confidence isn’t competition.
It’s collaboration.

When women feel secure within themselves, they don’t compare — they celebrate.

After 18 years as a marriage officiant I’ve come to realise that finding someone to walk beside you on the happiest days is beautiful…
but finding someone who will stay when the days are heavy — that’s everything.

It’s easy to hold hands in the sunshine.
The real gift is the person who reaches for you in the dark, who sits with you in silence, who doesn’t try to fix the storm but refuses to leave you in it.

Love isn’t proven in the celebrations.
It’s proven in hospital waiting rooms, financial stress, family loss, self-doubt, and the ordinary Tuesdays when you’re both exhausted.

Marriage is choosing each other not just when it’s light —but when it’s messy, uncertain, and hard.

Because the truest kind of love says,
“I’m not just here for your joy. I’m here for your becoming”.
