PRONIA - for a stronger community PRONIA [Pron’-ya] empowers, advocates and cares for the Australian Greek community.
Using innovative technology, including Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, PRONIA volunteers had the opportunity to experience the world from the perspective of a person living with dementia. Through the Enabling EDIE™ training program, they gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people with dementia and learned how to provide more compassionate and effective support to clients, their families, and carers.
Volunteers described the training as a valuable and eye-opening experience that enhanced their knowledge, empathy, and confidence in supporting people living with dementia. Thank you to our volunteers for their ongoing commitment to learning and supporting our community.
