Who here has a Dalmation? I love how they are like snowflakes, no 2 dalmatian's look the same!
Fun fact! The Dalmation was the only dog breed bred to be a coach dog. They would run alongside and guard the horses and carriages, alerting the driver of any approaching dangers while also clearing crowds out of the way so the horses could pass through.
Horse-drawn fire coaches would be one of these carriages. When the fire engine became motorized, the Dalmation became the unofficial mascot for the fire brigade deterring would be thieves due to their high guarding instinct and loyalty to those the dog trusts.
Dalmatians are an active dog who need plenty of exercise and company. If you don't give them this, they will get bored and most likely chew up all your shoes and furniture.
