Richard Andrew, the smiley, cheeky, rascal made me very happy when he agreed to play guitar for a tour of France and Spain in 2014. He and the line up we called the Many Wives with Adam Afiff and Simon Edwards played shows in France and Spain. Of all his music projects my favourite was one he wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments on, Registered Nurse ‘St*****rs’ (1999) is a stand-out local album. It embodies that mythological ‘Melbourne’ sound and I thrashed it. Authentically himself and in love with his tape machine, the humble genius claimed he didn’t really know what he was doing when he made that record. I found footage of Rich that I haven’t seen for 10 years. Maybe I’ll finally make that film clip I promised. He wanted to be a creepy ice cream truck driver character but it might just have to be a cool guy swaggering around Europe. His music is highly emotive in accordance with his Registered Nurse philosophy... “that great music should inspire emotions, not just be heard”. Big love to his family, loved ones, all who knew him and his music, and his Pharmacy records artists and fam. ❤️‍🩹
