Today marks the start of Refugee Week 2026, a reminder of the importance of listening to stories, valuing lived experience and creating communities where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

This year’s theme, “A Million Stories,” highlights that behind every individual is a unique journey shaped by courage, hope and the pursuit of safety and belonging.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to feel safe, connected and supported within their community. Every story deserves to be heard.

At Communicare, we’re proud to support this journey through our Bridge to Belonging Program, which works alongside individuals and families as they settle into new communities.

As part of Refugee Week, we will be hosting a community event this Sunday at Harmony Fields, Maddington, providing an opportunity for connection, conversation and shared community experience in a welcoming space.
