Pathway Collective | Support Hours Now Open

Happy Monday beautiful community 🤍
I’ve opened up a few support spots on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings across the Redlands and Bay Islands, and I wanted to share a little about how I work.

I support both teens and adults within the disability space, and for me, it’s never just about “ticking the box” of support, it’s about meeting the human in front of me exactly where they are at.

I especially love working alongside participants navigating ASD, ADHD, Cognitive Impairments and PTSD, and supporting everyone in a way that honours their unique needs, strengths, and lived experience.

I can support with:
• Community access + getting out into life
• Travel to appointments
• Companionship (real connection, not just supervision)
• Emotional regulation + grounding support
• Daily living assistance
• Goal setting + admin support

I’ve been working in the disability sector for the past 4 years, and I’m currently studying my Diploma of Counselling, which really weaves into how I hold space, especially around emotional wellbeing and communication. I have extensive lived experience with ASD, ADHD, Mental Health specifically Addiction and Su***de Ideation and PTSD and love that I’m able to bring a fresh approach to support in I’m not here to fix anyone.

I work in a holistic, trauma-aware way, which means I’m not here to override or rush anyone, I’m here to support choice, capacity, confidence, and independence at a pace that actually feels safe and sustainable.

If you’re looking for support through Pathway Collective that is consistent, respectful, and genuinely heart-led, feel free to reach out and we can see if I’m the right fit.

[email protected] or send an SMS to 0455543544 and I’ll be happy to have a chat.

Happy Monday
Belinda

Your Voice Matters When Choosing Support

Something I have witnessed over many years working alongside families and participants is how often support services get reduced to a number on a plan or simply filling a shift. But support was never meant to be just that.

Support is about trust, safety, respect and genuine care.

I have also seen, and personally experienced the stress that can come when things don’t go the way they should. Situations where there has been major breaches in duty of care, last-minute shift cancellations, or providers who simply don’t show up when someone is relying on them. When support suddenly disappears, it doesn’t just create inconvenience, it can place real stress and instability on individuals and families.

Because of experiences like this, it becomes incredibly important to know that you are allowed to set clear expectations and boundaries.

You have every right to:
• Express your preferences when choosing a support worker
• Expect accountability and professionalism
• Add your own cancellation clauses into the agreement charge the support worker for a change instead of the participant always being charged
• Change providers without justification
• Enforce shift notes be provided
• Clearly state what you will accept on an invoice and what you will not including hourly rates

Many people also don’t realise that you can create or request your own service agreements that outline expectations around things like cancellations, notice periods, communication and duty of care. These agreements can help protect both the participant and the family and create clarity from the beginning.

There are many incredible support workers and providers out there who genuinely care and show up with integrity. When the right people are in place, support becomes empowering, consistent and life-enhancing.

But please remember this:
You are not obligated to accept support that doesn’t feel aligned, safe, or respectful.

Your needs matter.
Your standards matter.
And your voice deserves to be heard.

I would love for you to pop your experiences in or better yet send me a DM.

✨ The Power of Simple Acknowledgement ✨

At Pathway Collective, we believe the strongest support teams aren’t built on big gestures … they’re built on simple, consistent acknowledgement.

“I see you.”
“That was handled really well.”
“I know that was challenging.”

Recognising a struggle.
Celebrating a job well done.
Pausing long enough to validate effort.

These small moments are the glue of real connection.

When a team feels acknowledged, they feel steady.

When processes are streamlined and communication is clear, confidence naturally grows.

When we are grounded in our ability and role, that confidence ripples out to every participant, every family, and every professional we connect with.

It’s not about boosting egos.
It’s not about making ourselves feel better as supports.

It’s about moving forward as a collective.

When one person feels supported, the whole ecosystem strengthens.
When one person grows in confidence, the standard of care rises for everyone.

Strong teams are built on clarity, respect, and shared responsibility, not competition.

At Pathway Collective, we walk beside one another.
Because when we move together, we move better. ✨
