We held a very productive monthly meeting this morning. A number of motions were moved, discussed and passed.

A few key points to take away from todays meeting:

* Membership fees are due by June 30th. Please ignore email/invoice from State and pay direct to Branch account. Unless you do not wish to avail yourself of the discounted $$. Contact Jennifer if you require branch bank details.

* Our AGM is being held on Wednesday 22nd July at 9.30am followed immediately by our monthly meeting. We hope to see as many members as possible in attendance. We may do lunch afterwards if we have enough interest?

* Nominations for vacant positions MUST be received in a sealed envelope no later than Wednesday 24th June to enable Returning Officer to prepare ballot papers if needed

* There will be no monthly meeting in August as our nembers have Ekka and other commitments

* Awesome news received today regarding hall restoration. McNab along with their amazing contractors and suppliers will be undertaking restoration. Stay tuned we are hoping commencement date is imminent!

Today we presented a 10 year certificate and badge to our amazing member Bronny. Thank you for turning up over all those years, being an active member of QCWA branches across the state and always managing to bring joy to our craft days and meetings.

Presentation of a new member pack was made to Trish, our latest recruit. Welcome, we thank you for your support so far (your knitting is beautiful). We hope you find your time with us enjoyable.

A big thank you to Bronny for the delicious morning tea. It was enjoyed by all!

Craft today is very lively. Lots of chatter!
A few different crafts knitting, crocheting, embroidery, fillet work and eating 😜

We have taken a walk down memory lane lots of old school brands and ads mentioned cyclax, cashmere, Louie the fly etc. One member recalls an ad along the lines of 'must be disturbing to see a man in a turban' ... no one knows what it was for. Anyone have any ideas?

We are here every Tuesday 9am to midday. Everyone is welcome to join us!
Address is 21 Waterloo Street, Cleveland. Pop in next week and say hello.

A great morning fund-raising for The Cancer Council and learning about Samoa - QCWA's Country of study for 2026.

All funds raised went to the Cancer Councils Biggest Morning tea. The morning was well attended by many, proudly representing their branches, including our President Jenny. Our Treasurer was lucky and won two raffle prizes in absentia!

There was some wonderful entertainment from the local Redcliffe Samoan Community, and awesome food.

A big thank you to Diane and her amazing team, including QCWA Greater Brisbane Executive and those working behind the scenes. Together we are Stronger!!!

We are all looking forward to 2027, we see potatoes, stout and leprechauns in our future, yes Northern Ireland is it!

Tuesday 19th May, craft will see our President Jenny conducting a class where she will be teaching us to make a small felted strawberry brooch.

For those that are unaware QCWA celebrates a different local agricultural item each year through education, health promotion, and community recipes. The featured product for 2026 is the strawberry.

It is an amazingly tasty fruit, full of vitamin c and with many health benefits!

Class will commence at 9am and run until midday.

Bring scissors! A kit will be supplied which contains all materials required. A gold coin donation to assist with replenishment of our supplies would be appreciated but not mandatory.

Anyone is welcome to attend! Morning tea is supplied.

Address is 21 Waterloo Street. Entry is via rear door, and there is heaps of parking at the rear

It was a wonderful morning, a great introduction to the culture and food of Samoa with students sharing stories. Thank to all involved!

Our Pacifikai Cooking students had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Country Women’s Association international event in Oxley.

Students proudly shared their culture, stories, and delicious food with CWA members, creating a meaningful cultural exchange and celebrating the richness of our diverse community. The members were incredibly welcoming and grateful for the experience, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.

Thank you to the CWA for hosting our students and supporting connections through culture, food, and community.

Our ladies are proud to be supporting our local community through the Redland Community Centre.

Every month we shop and drop food items to the Centre to be distributed where needed.

When you support our Branch through our street Stalls and events, you are supporting the wider Redlands community!

We thank you for your continued support!!!
