Great morning hearing from industry experts about how we can tackle Australia's housing challenges and help more Australians into a home of their own.

From the conversations I had today with leaders across social and affordable housing, crisis accommodation, and more, one thing is clear: we need to keep working together to build more homes and make housing more affordable.

That's exactly what the Albanese Labor Government is focused on, and I'm looking forward to building on today's conversations to help deliver more homes for more Australians.

The prospect of a state-sanctioned ex*****on livestreamed into our homes is highly disturbing.

Labor has long opposed the death penalty. Our Government and indeed the entire Australian parliament regardless of political background rightly expects the online platforms take responsibility to prevent this sort of content from being broadcast or distributed online. This is because violent content eventually desensitises those viewing the violence and worse normalises such spectacle.

There is a reason democratic societies ended public ex*****ons over the past 200 years. As Charles Dickens wrote after witnessing a public hanging at a gallows in 1849 - the most frightful aspect of the spectacle was the crowd.

For too long, society has been nodding along to the billionaire tech bro's social media algorithms.

But that's all changing, because the Albanese Labor Government is giving you control over your own algorithm.

Like how it is now? Keep it. Don't like it? Change it. That's the choice Labor is putting in your hands.
