Earlier this year I lost my dad, Peter Gibson. He was a radio and systems technician who spent his career building radio towers in remote Australia and later transitioned into building and repairing computers at a time when most people had never touched one.

Growing up in that environment meant I had access to technology and technical knowledge. Watching someone who could build infrastructure from the ground up, shaped how I approach my own work more than I realised at the time.
My first website was built in pure HTML with free hosting I dug up online. No tutorials, no YouTube, just tinkering until things worked. From there I took web design classes in high school using Dreamweaver, which gave me my first real taste of building something structured and intentional for the web.
That curiosity never switched off. Over the years I kept learning, kept building, and eventually turned it into a business.

Today On Point Creative NT covers everything from WordPress website builds and SEO to photography and digital strategy, all based here in Darwin. The tools have changed enormously since those early HTML days but the approach is the same one I picked up watching my dad work: understand the system, figure out what it needs, and build it properly.

It is a career path that started with a kid poking around on a computer because her father made technology feel approachable and interesting. That is not a small thing.
