Edithvale Primary School

Today we were incredibly fortunate to have our whole school community participate in a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Uncle Steve.
Together, we learnt about the deep connection to Country, the importance of community, and the role of Elders past and present – and how this is reflected in the school’s mural. Students and staff walked through the smoke as a way of cleansing our spirits, reflecting on truth, and preparing ourselves for the holidays ahead.
This was a beautiful and meaningful way to come together as a school as we look ahead to NAIDOC Week and continue our learning, respect and connection to First Nations culture.
