Things your headache wishes you'd stop doing… 👀

☕ Living on coffee and calling it breakfast (or lunch)

💻 Sitting frozen at your desk like a statue for 4 hours

😴 Going to bed late and expecting 5 hours of sleep to be enough

😬 Clenching your jaw while concentrating

📱 Scrolling on your phone with your head permanently tilted down

Sound familiar? 😂

Of course, none of these things automatically *causes* a headache. But if you're getting headaches regularly, it's worth paying attention to what tends to happen before they appear.

Sometimes it's not one thing. It can be the combination of poor sleep, stress, long periods in one position, changes in exercise, skipped meals or other factors.

The trick is to start looking for your pattern. 🔎

We've written more about why headaches can keep coming back and what to look out for on our blog.

POV: You’re a new mum.

Everyone is asking how the baby is going…

But what about **you?** ❤️

You might be wondering:

🤔 When can I start exercising again?
🤔 Is this pelvic pain normal?
🤔 Why am I leaking when I run, jump or cough?
🤔 Why does my tummy still feel different?
🤔 When can I start running again?
🤔 Is it normal for s*x to be uncomfortable?
🤔 Why do I still feel like my body hasn’t recovered?
🤔 Should I be doing something about this, or will it just get better?

These are questions we hear all the time from new mums.

And while every woman’s recovery is different, you don’t have to just put up with symptoms or wait until they become a bigger problem before asking for help.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing **what’s normal, what’s worth getting checked, and where to start.**

So during Women’s Health Week, we’re putting the focus back on **you**, too.

Because you’re not just a mum.

You’re a person who deserves to feel supported in your own body. ❤️

If you’ve been wondering about any of these things, save this post or send it to a new mum who might need to hear it.

Do you constantly feel like you need to stretch your neck?
You stretch it… it feels better for a few minutes… then the tightness comes right back again.
This is something we hear all the time in clinic.
A lot of people assume it simply means their neck is “tight” and needs more stretching.
But often, it’s not that straightforward.
Sometimes that tightness is your body’s way of saying the area is being overloaded or becoming more sensitive over time.
When you think about how much time we spend:
💻 at desks
📱 on phones
🚗 driving
📺 looking down throughout the day
…it makes sense that the neck can start to feel irritated.
Stretching can definitely help in the short term.
But for many people, longer-term change comes from things like:
➡️ moving more regularly
➡️ changing positions throughout the day
➡️ building strength and capacity
➡️ reducing long static postures
So if you’re stuck in that cycle of stretching your neck but it keeps tightening back up, it might be worth looking at what’s driving it.

Stress doesn’t directly “cause” all headaches, but it can absolutely influence how they present and how intense they feel.

When we’re under pressure, the body often responds physically:

❌ tighter neck and shoulders
❌ jaw clenching
❌ altered breathing
❌ reduced recovery

Over time, these changes can contribute to increased sensitivity in the head and neck region.

This is why many people notice their headaches flare during busy, stressful periods.

The important takeaway is that headaches are rarely driven by one single factor. It’s usually a combination of physical, lifestyle, and nervous system influences.

Understanding your pattern is often the first step in managing things more effectively. We can help you explore this in more detail.
