ATIC
ATIC | Accelerating immunotherapy treatment for T1D.

Did you know that clinical trials are available for some people before symptoms of type 1 diabetes appear?
Researchers are evaluating new immunotherapies that aim to delay, and potentially prevent, the need for insulin treatment by protecting the body's insulin-producing beta cells before they are destroyed by the immune system.
These trials are only possible because screening can identify people in the early stages of type 1 diabetes, before symptoms develop.
This National Diabetes Week, we're highlighting how research and screening are working together to create new opportunities to change the future of type 1 diabetes.

This National Diabetes Week, we're shining a light on how research is changing the future of type 1 diabetes.
From screening that identifies risk, to treatments that can delay type 1 diabetes, protect the body's insulin-producing cells, and research exploring ways to replace those cells and restore the body's natural ability to produce insulin, we're entering a new era of possibility.
Early detection saves lives. Research is opening new opportunities to predict, delay and one day prevent type 1 diabetes, while bringing us closer to therapies that could restore the body's natural ability to produce insulin.
Together, we're working towards a future without type 1 diabetes.

A fantastic update from Breakthrough T1D Australia on the emerging therapies to protect and preserve the insulin producing cells in the pancreas. If you are interested in participating in clinical trials of these medications, please visit our website (atic.svi.edu.au/clinical-trials) or send us an email at [email protected] and we would be very happy to help.
