Last week, as some important souls in my life gathered around a table to celebrate my birthday, a dear friend asked me to reflect on three things that I’m proud of from the year that has been.

The third ‘thing’ that revealed itself was the realisation that this year I’ve been a lot kinder to myself.

Amongst the challenges, the failures, the rejections and the doubts I’ve allowed myself to access more self-kindness, and for that I’m proud.

I’m human. I fluctuate. But as I’ve sat with this, I’ve really come to terms with how impactful this has been for me. There’s been many dances around the sun with my inner critic in the hot seat, but I’m feeling progressively more excited about self-kindness taking over the reins, as the hottest new pilot in town!
