Tucked away just off the main road in Hawthorne, Haiiro Izakaya is a hidden gem that truly impressed us 🍶✨

From the very first bite of their garlic edamame to the perfectly cooked Wagyu steak, every dish was full of flavour and finesse. The sesame-crusted tuna tataki and nasu dengaku were definite standouts — beautifully balanced and plated with care.

We were kindly invited to dine here, and it was such a pleasure to experience their modern take on Japanese dining. If you’re after a cozy, elevated izakaya experience, this is the spot to try. 💫

🥢 What we ordered: garlic edamame, fried eringi, nasu dengaku, assorted sashimi, sesame-crusted tuna tataki, Wagyu steak (200g), and sugarloaf.

𝙃𝙄𝘿𝘿𝙀𝙉 𝙂𝙀𝙈: 𝙆𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩. This hole-in-the wall restaurant is located at the narrow pathway, next to the carpark, past Hakataya Ramen. Despite the limited space with only 8 seating, the food here is worth the visit. The Clear Spicy Seafood Soup was rich and super smokey. The Beef Ribs was so flavoursome and tender. Every main we’ve tried so far had been delicious. Plus you know it’s good when our picky friend recommended it 😜
