FERST partnered with Locatrix providing online emergency response compliance solutions.

Watch as firefighters from ACT Fire & Rescue extinguish a garage fire in Isabella Plains, which was started by hot coals smouldering from the night before.

It’s a timely reminder that embers and coals can reignite many hours or even days later, if not properly extinguished.

💧 Before disposing of coals, allow them to cool completely (for up to 48 hours)
🪣 Use fireproof container, like a metal bucket, to douse the coals in water
❌ Never place hot coals or embers in your household bin

Thankfully, firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevented its spread into the home nearby, and there were no serious injuries.

HAZMAT Incident - Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre

A small gas leak has occurred at the Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre Belconnen.
The Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre is currently closed.
ACT Fire & Rescue and ZINFRA are on scene completing HAZMAT operations and will be for sometime.

The community is advised to contact Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre tomorrow for details on reopening. The community is asked to avoid the area.
