Ever wondered what’s actually involved in installing a RAM 1500 chassis brace?
It’s not a quick bolt-on job.
To brace it properly the tub has to come off, along with the fuel tank, tow bar and rear suspension so we can access and reinforce the chassis where it matters. Then everything goes back together to factory standard.
After doing a good number of these we’ve got the process down.
If you’ve been quoted for a RAM chassis brace and wondered what actually goes into it. Hopefully you’ve got a better idea after watching this.
It’s a big job but reinforcing the chassis properly is worth doing once and doing right.
Solar panels won’t work in the shade.
Sounds obvious… but you’d be surprised how many times we hear:
“Mate, my power system isn’t charging.” or “Hey my fridge is dead”
Then the car’s parked under a tree.
If you’re running a solar panel on your 4WD or canopy, it needs sunlight. No sun = no charge.
Before you stress about your dual battery setup, check the simple stuff:
☀️ Are the panels actually in the sun?
☀️ Are they clean?
☀️ Is something casting a shadow?
Sometimes it’s not a wiring issue.
If you're towing with your RAM 1500, this is the stuff we won't skip.
1. Long-range fuel tank - because that Hemi V8 is it even thirstier when towing
2. GVM upgrade - to legally and safely carry the everything
3. Chassis bracing - to prevent long-term damage to your chassis especially when under-load.
Your RAM will tow better, last longer, and be set up properly for Australian conditions with these mods.
