Rye grass doing great. We don't normally recommend rye as it can't withstand our hot summers. Most rye will die off. However, we have used it on this property in heavy shaded areas. This section gets a small amount of sun in the morning, and then it's gone for the day.

After all the rain we've had, it's a good idea to keep an eye out on your lawn for signs of lawn grub.
If you notice brown patches, increase bird activity or shells on the eves of your house, they are signs of grub!
