This course has a ‘first responder’ focus but is suitable for any individual who wants to understand mental health challenges and learn how to offer support. What does it mean to be a first responder?… in reality, every individual has the potential to be a first responder. Most often this description is associated with professional individuals who have received specialised training in dealing with emergencies. The reality is that the first responder is often a bystander (someone like you and me), on an emergency scene, providing the very first few minutes of support.

Not only is this course nationally recognised, but it is also a concise and efficient short course that offers a practical solution for individuals seeking to understand the basics of or enhance their mental health support skills. Its streamlined format saves valuable time, allowing you to gain essential knowledge and skills without a significant time commitment.

You will learn to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health concerns and respond effectively, providing crucial support until professional help is available.

Pricing updates | NDIS 23/06/2026

Big changes coming to NDIS pricing from 1 July 2026 — here's what you need to know. 👇

The NDIS has just released the Annual Pricing Review for 2026-27 and there are some important updates if you work in disability support or run a care business.

Here's the wrap-up in plain English:
💰 Support worker rates are going up — the standard weekday daytime rate increases to around $70.23/hr (a ~3.95% increase following the Fair Work wage review)

📋 Plans will be indexed on 13 July 2026 to reflect the new pricing

⏰ Short-notice cancellation period for non-DSW supports is changing to 2 business days

❄️ Therapy and Support Coordination Level 2 and 3 pricing remains frozen — no change there

⚠️ Providers MUST talk to participants before changing service agreements — and participants must agree first

If you're a disability support worker, this affects your pay rates and how your organisation bills.

If you're a provider or team leader, you need to review your service agreements before 1 July.

And if you're thinking about upskilling your team before these changes land — now is the time.
