WYN Hub is exploring what business done differently can look like in Melbourne's West. Business done with social good at its heart. On that same wavelength, would that mean businesses that are... anticapitalist? Unsure but worth exploring, especially after the recent reports from Oxfam on how wealth is distributed across the world and the role of economies on the illegal occupation and jennyside of Pal3stine.

The slides above are some snippets and quotes from an article that poses the same question. Link in bio for the full blog post.

In collaboration with we’re sharing the third addition to our Radical Futures Toolkit series - exploring the tools, skills, and concepts we need to build liberatory futures. Think starter-pack vibes, designed to help us thrive outside of our current oppressive systems, all while grounding ourselves in existing projects, resources, and communities already putting these practices to work.

📉Degrowth is a practice, a process, and movement which challenges the capitalist obsession with GDP growth and instead prioritises ecological sustainability, economic equity and collective care and dignity.

💭It envisions a world where resources are shared equitably, work is restructured around care and community, and economic systems are designed to sustain life - not profit. It requires a transformation of values and practices at the personal, local, national, regional and global level.

🔍Inside this toolkit:
🌾Unpacking ‘growth’ & Capitalocentrism
🔄The relationship between Degrowth & Postgrowth
🤝Solidarity economics 101
🛠️Offers & needs markets
