Brazilian police have arrested a suspect believed to be behind massive cyberattacks on the FBI's InfraGard, Airbus, and more.
The alleged hacker, known as "USDoD," is accused of stealing and selling sensitive data, including from a US data broker, impacting billions worldwide.
This major arrest, part of Operation Data Breach, marks a key victory in global cybersecurity.

Alabama man Eric Council Jr faces up to 5 years in prison for hacking the US Securities and Exchange Commission's X (formerly Twitter) account.
By posting fake news about Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), he spiked Bitcoin’s price by $1,000 before it crashed. The hack was part of a SIM swapping scheme, where criminals take control of a victim's phone to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA).
SIM swapping is a growing threat, causing major financial losses.
