When I founded Nexxt Group in 2014, I wanted to create an organisation that not only created great outcomes for our clients, but also provided an avenue for our team members (including me!) to realise their true potential. Since those early days, we have worked with almost 100 organisations spanning corporate, privately-owned, not-for-profit and government organisations, across a diverse range of industries.

As the financial year comes to a close, we're looking back on the year just gone, and we can't believe how far Nexxt has come! An ever-expanding team, exciting projects, new partnerships, and and a rebrand to boot! Overwhelmingly, we are filled with gratitude for the many people that have made the successes of the last 12 months possible, and for those that continue to contribute – as team members, business partners, and valued clients – to our future growth. 👏👏👏

Phew! Good thing this is not a real book!!! Although it sure feels like it at times! 😅 Seriously though: we've been talking about Agile Mindset a lot lately and the truth is that is a way of business-life and not a proscribed set of systems and processes. We must adopt an organisational culture of ownership and empowerment, driven by delivering value and continuous improvement.

As adoption continues to rise, there are still some significant barriers limiting further growth. Have you experienced any of these challenges?

The 15th State of Agile report from Digital.ai shows that adoption of Agile practices has accelerated over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, and with ever more teams becoming wholly or partially distributed, flexible delivery and team empowerment is more important than ever.

We see that 86% of software teams are using Agile, up from just 36% in 2020, and Agile continues the march into broader enterprise operations, doubling in non-IT uptake since just 12 months ago!

But we still see that many organisations struggle to fully embrace Agile, citing inconsistent processes across teams, incompatible organisational culture, resistance to change, and a lack of experience with Agile as the primary limiting factors.

As longtime Agile evangelists, we wholeheartedly welcome this continued growth in adoption as validation of the power of this paradigm shift in project and business management. But change is hard; at times it can be downright painful! The important thing is to keep sight of the endgame and ensure that growing pains are viewed as they should be: as a necessary and unavoidable part of genuine change for the better.
