Thank you all for coming to our Rothwell Autobarn Meet! Was a fantastic night and considering where it is and with a weeks notice we’re very happy with how it turned out. Gorgeous cars all round.

Next fortnight, Autobarn Rothwell will actually be open for our meet, so feel free to come in and have a squizz, we’re working on a discount for JDMSC members so come buy some parts and whatnot. We’ve also planned on fixing the lighting issue out the front of Autobarn itself so we do apologise for that one.

Special thank you to everyone who helped Chris in his GTR R32, from us and from Chris, when he suspected a fuel pump issue. It was his first Brisbane meet, and I’m proud to say JDM members rushed to help.

Otherwise, we would appreciate some feedback, please feel free to let us know your thoughts and opinions on the new location, or even our brendale meets below 🫰🏻

We went JDM only because we kept having problems with non jdm car owners, and last night ended up being fantastic! Super proud of everyone for the most part coming in responsibly, and for the non jdm owners that got turned away and took it like a champ we genuinely really appreciate it, and we thank everyone for coming ❤️

After tonight we’re setting rules on what our admins are doing, the meet goes from 7-9 admins will be there from 6-6:30 to organise vendors ect. Once 9pm hits, it’s traffic cones up and people can come and go as they please. There will still be admins monitoring the carpark and noting Regos til the last cars gone. So don’t be silly just because you think you can get away with it.
Next Monday we’re going to have an admin on either side of the carpark as well to guide people towards parking spots, so if you’re confused cause there’s people and cars everywhere, keep an eye out for someone waving a big red flashy stick at you and you will be guided to the light. (And yes we will try and park you with your friends if there’s room)
Bike riders, please don’t take up a whole car park with your bike, we will be designating an area for bikes to park in one of the loading bays infront of salvos and you will be directed there.

Now for the angst:
I cannot stress this enough guys. It is a CAR MEET. I cannot believe I have to state this but pay attention to the cars around you, stop walking down the middle of the road not keeping an eye out and getting in the way of cars trying to leave/arrive. Next meet someone will have a megaphone and you will be called out infront of everyone for not paying attention.

We did unfortunately have a few ausdm leaving like idiots, two falcons that decided doing drive bys to rev their cars thought they where funny, simply put for those who where upset they couldn’t enter don’t blame the admins. Blame the people that do crap like that, because it is an annoyingly consistent problem and because of it at this stage we will be continuing JDM ONLY Autobarn meets for the foreseeable future. Regos were taken of all the other people that left irresponsibly, and we did have a camera facing the entrance. So footage will be sent off to police of those falcons, and for the others you will be moved on, and not allowed into the main carpark next Monday.
The only other real problem we had was people parking in the ampol. We should have re stated that in our reminder post, and I’ll be sure to do so next time, but don’t park there, more specifically if you park there and one of the admins comes down and asks you to move please do, there where a few blokes that thought they could evade several requests from admins to move out of there and they didn’t, so unfortunately for them they will be moved on from the main carpark next meet. We want to keep the local businesses as happy as we can so we can keep running these meets.

Other than that, was a SOLID turn out, and while I wish we could just spawn in a bigger carpark, we cannot so I genuinely apologise to the JDM cars that had to get turned away because the carpark was full.

Final note: There will be a post today about a car meet we will be hosting next Tuesday on the 26th at a different location so if you’re reading this keep an eye out for that one 🤫

And thank you all for attending, good to see the car scene is still full of hot as Japanese cars 😉
