Mediation - safe space to create your own settlement.

Intention - how you’d like to settle the separation without destroying each other.

Perhaps work out the timeline in which you’d both like to achieve this.

* Collaborative planning is an effective way to do this.

Community - set yourself up with clear professionals. One’s that understand your intention and the will refer you to professionals that will support you.

Get it right, don’t need to be right - so here you are at a junction perhaps not intended.

Decide how to be when addressing the other person.

Respect that perhaps they too are catching their breath.

What’s best for both parties moving forward.

Yet again we are having to write about VIOLENCE - DOMESTIC ABUSE - SEXUAL ASSAULT - DANGEROUS HUMANS, who rise to the top like it’s a normal event.

Yes it is a normal event for 1 in 4 women + children and it’s appalling. Distressingly our community need more conversation, yet we are so exhausted.

We’ve been talking to this exhausting behaviour, the individual repercussions and the community fall out with very little sustained improvement.

It would be fair to say we are fed up.

Comfortable living should not come from saying very little about the distress the community is experiencing.

Women, Men, Children require support to manage. Support should not burden the survivors.

GOVERNMENT, Local, State & Federal should have a collaborative coordinated approach that assists the process of recovery & a positive future.

Our service is trauma informed, DV aware whilst we can refer clients to services that support them, the waiting period can be from 4 days to 12 weeks.
Investment from Government on all levels to address these needs is paramount.

Bullying

For sometime Mediation Matters Resolve have worked with people addressing bullying.

What we discovered in our conversations is it’s rarely a one off event. That it can initially subtle and can escalate rapidly.

The view to turn the other cheek, mirror it back at the bully, take it to the grown ups or the team leader to address, isn’t always timely nor effective.

What to do?

We talk about the words used, the subtle nuances of rejection, isolation of others & the why?

We talk about the progression and how to be resilient. No excuses, the cost of bullying and successful plans that are practiced daily.

What are the processes at the institution that uphold a fair + equitable culture.

We see changes in the approach of our clients and they report after discussing their matter confidence in their choices & who they spend time with improve.

An open conversation creates a culture where communication can foster true understanding + positive outcomes.
