(So much went wrong on this squat even the bailout 😅)
Now don't take that opening statement out of context.. I definitely haven't won much in the scheme of life, but what I can say is this!!
I truly believe when it comes to your training if you have not actually failed under a Squat or failed a Deadlift or had the bar land on your chest during a Bench Press then you are really not training at your full capacity.
The idea of this may worry you a little but once its happened you will realize that the weight that stressed the life out of you is actually way more weight than you expected!!
Remember Squat racks have safety bars for a reason it's to keep you safe, you can also bench press in a Squat rack if you feel unsafe so again the safety bars will be there for you!!
Get under that bar and test yourself, you may well surprise yourself into lifting more weight for reps than you thought!! Don't underestimate FEAR!!

PROTEIN... Are you getting a sufficient amount??
While lecturing I find I get asked this question more than not!!
The frustrating answer sounds like a copout but it goes like this... I am sure you have heard this before!!
The amount.......
Depends on the client!
Depends on the coach!!
Depends on the training stimulus!!
Depends on the clients digestion!!
Depends on how many Carbs the clients consuming!!
Depends on how much good fats the client is eating!!
If you eat too much Protein, you have to look out for Protein Neogenesis.
If you don't eat enough Protein you wont grow Bro!!
And I am sure you have all heard of some or all, if not more but lets get to the point!!
I like to put it into a more simplified terms from experience with a little science and a lots of the "Art of coaching"
Compliance will always win over all things with clients, why? because you can write the most scientific diet plan known to man kind but If nobody can adhere to it then its not worth a pinch of sh to anybody!!
So try this for size... Track a weeks worth of Protein literature around the double bodyweight plus for hypertrophy clients, or the 1.4 to 1.9 grams times bodyweight using a sliding scale around the fat loss/training effect your clients is looking to achieve. See if they hit the quoter everyday, If they don't and the "feedback" says they are struggling then drop it a little and see how they go in week two.
So on and so on until the actual quoter given is hit perfectly then work on increasing slowly. I feel one of the biggest mistakes trainers make is trying to change the clients protein norms rather than help build new ones!!
My finding over the last 14 years says its Protein is an accumulation effect of clients usual eating protocols plus gut health and digestion working hand in hand that allows clients to get up to maximum dosages of protein for the elusive gainz...

Don’t discount health when it comes to a transformation. You must be healthy on the inside to look and feel amazing on the out!!
To many people today worry about just what they see....
Wanting results “today” isn’t productive!!
