Last couple jobs for the year and its restoration time on these two Blackwood & Blackwood veneer desks for some new clients.

Pipers Truline Pty Ltd were producers of office and home furniture, founded in 1919 in Ulverstone, Tasmania.

Tasmanian locals have no doubt seen or used one of their Blackwood tables, desks, or chairs during their time on the island and it will be nice to see how they come up after a simple restoration and refinish.

Whitewashing some oak grain on a fireside cabinet, lightly buffed & ready for a beeswax polish pre-delivery!

First coat of Danish oil on this Blackheart Sassafras (Atherosperma moschatum) coffee table.
This piece was all made from two salvaged Sassafras boards leaning against a shed in northern Tasmania.

Have had the chance to work on some amazing co-design projects over the last couple of years.

-Bamboo design research and construction in Vietnam working with architecture students from UTAS & HAU (Hanoi architecture University) and various government agencies from both countries.

-Floating gabien wave benches for the lookout at the iconic Shipsterns Bluff in southern Tasmania working with two UTAS architecture students and Tas Parks & Wildlife.

-Waste timber repurposing and product development in northern Tasmania with two UTAS interior design students AND Neville Smith Forest Products.
