HOW NOT TO GET TO CARINYA

This screenshot, this morning from guests travelling up from Gunnedah.

To be fair to Google… it did find a way.

Unfortunately that way involved every back track, goat track and mud hole known to mankind.

I’m not entirely convinced they’d have made it without divine intervention.

This wet weather has really confused the mapping systems, so here’s your annual reminder…

Please don’t rely on Google Maps to get to Carinya.

If you’re travelling anywhere in the outback after rain, avoid unsealed roads unless you know they’re open. We send all our guests directions for a reason.

Maps are clever.

The locals are cleverer.

Meet Gemma and Max. Our Dorper poddy lambs from last year. 🐑

They’re currently serving time in jail.

Mostly because Gemma has developed an unfortunate hobby of flattening children. To be clear… this isn’t acceptable behaviour. 🤣 She’s a big unit and has absolutely no concept of personal space.

The original plan was to put them in the cool room and Graham, our butcher would turn them in to the tastiest chops, roasts and ribs we’ve had in a while…

There is just one small problem…

They come running every time you call their names.

So now they’re living on borrowed time while we continue pretending we’re “still deciding.” 😅

Lucky our local butcher sells excellent lamb… because these two seem to have talked themselves into another season at Carinya. ❤️

Unfortunately, there appears to be a slight distraction in the foreground.

We’ll try again tomorrow.
