🌿 Bush Kindy – Week 2 🌿
Today we explored, discovered and connected with nature. From our scavenger hunt and tree bark printing to learning about bush tucker, exploring the riverbed and feeding the birds, the children embraced every opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences in the great outdoors.

The children have been having so much fun exploring, creating, and using their imaginations through play. These tyres have already become a fantastic resource for developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and active outdoor play.

🌿 Bush Kindy Week 1 🌿
Our Bush Kindy adventures at Essence have officially begun!
This week, our Kindergarten children enjoyed their very first walk from the centre to the Gooseponds. Together, we explored our new Bush Kindy space, got to know one another, and learned how to stay safe while enjoying the outdoors.
Children helped create our Bush Kindy rules, practiced walking safely as a group, explored boundaries, listened to the sounds around them, and discovered the many wonders nature has to offer. Along the way, we heard birds singing, ducks splashing, dogs barking, and even spotted sticks, leaves, mud, and flowing water.
It was wonderful to see the children’s curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm as they connected with nature and each other. We can’t wait to continue our Bush Kindy journey and see where our next adventure takes us!

🌿 Reconciliation Week at Essence 🌿
Last week, our children and educators came together to celebrate Reconciliation Week through meaningful experiences that encouraged learning, respect, and connection.
Throughout the week, we explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, listened to Dreaming stories, created artwork inspired by First Nations peoples, and engaged in conversations about the importance of reconciliation and belonging.
These experiences provided opportunities for our children to develop an appreciation for Australia's rich cultural heritage while fostering respect, understanding, and inclusivity within our community.
This week, we proudly acknowledge and celebrate National Reconciliation Week — a time to learn about our shared histories and cultures, whilst reflecting on how we can contribute to reconciliation in meaningful ways 🖤💛❤️
Through our Indigenous setup and learning experiences, the children have been exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, connection to Country, storytelling, art and respect for Australia’s First Nations peoples.
We believe that creating opportunities for children to learn, ask questions and engage with culture helps build understanding, respect and a stronger future for everyone.
Our Junior Kindy has expanded on their interest in the outdoor program by participating in a fun camping experience.
This experience could not have turned out any better, every single child was involved and engaged for over an hour. The children gave positive feedback, such as they were having fun and it was so evident as they also showed it through non verbal communication as well. If we were to do a camping day again I would not change a thing, the whole morning flowed well and the children were activley engaged. This experiecne was also an amazing oppurtunity for the children and educators to bond and deepen connections.

It was such a lovely afternoon, and we truly appreciated spending this special time together with you all. Thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of our Essence family.
