A moment for the deck cubby 😍

Our children have developed a strong interest in creating and exploring cubby houses. Throughout the week, they have been using a variety of resources, including blankets, loose parts, chairs, and natural materials, to design and build their own spaces. This play has encouraged teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creativity as the children worked together to share ideas and negotiate roles.

The cubby houses have also provided opportunities for imaginative play, with the children transforming their creations into homes, campsites, reading nooks, and places to care for dolls and friends.

Educators will continue to build on this emerging interest by providing open-ended materials and extending children’s learning through collaborative construction experiences.
