INCIDENT: M80 Ring Road re-opened

UPDATE 10.48pm

The Greensborough-bound lanes of the M80 Ring Road have been re-opened between Keilor Park Drive and the Calder Freeway, following a collision earlier today.

Delays have now eased.

Thanks again for your patience as emergency services conducted investigations and crews worked to clear the incident from the freeway.

————————

UPDATE 2.45pm
Please plan ahead for the afternoon peak and avoid the Greensborough-bound lanes of the M80 Ring Road, following a serious collision this morning.

The M80 Ring Road remains closed between Keilor Park Drive and the Calder Freeway, and there are significant delays back to Furlong Road.

If you continue to Keilor Park Drive, you'll exit there and can then detour to re-enter the M80 from the Calder Freeway or from Airport Drive.

Exiting earlier will save travel time this afternoon. Alternatives include Ballarat, Station, Kings, Taylors and Green Gully roads to reach the Calder Freeway, or using the West Gate Freeway and Citylink/Tullamarine Freeway.

The freeway will only re-open when investigations are complete.

Please be patient and courteous to your fellow motorists.

--------------------

UPDATE 12.15pm

All Greensborough-bound lanes of the M80 Ring Road are closed between Keilor Park Drive and the Calder Freeway, following a collision and truck fire.

Please follow the direction of emergency services and exit Keilor Park Drive. You can then detour to re-enter the M80 from the Calder Freeway or from Airport Drive.

There are significant delays now building for Greensborough-bound traffic. Please plan ahead for the afternoon peak to find an alternative route.

Exiting earlier at Sunshine Avenue, and detouring via Green Gully Road and the Calder Freeway may you some save time. Using the West Gate Freeway or Ballarat Road to reach Citylink/Tullamarine Freeway is another good option.

The closure is under the control of emergency services. The freeway will open when investigations are complete and it's safe to do so.

Our signal engineers are monitoring conditions on surrounding roads and will adjust traffic lights to minimise delays.
