“A woman bleeds for five days and doesn’t die”- Lisa Lister
I dream to live in a world where women know the power of their body,
and that has to include the young maidens.
Today my daughter and I held a Maiden Circle, something that’s been close to my heart, well since she was born,
and today we got to birth it.
I’ve always found it easeful to talk opening about the sacredness of the female body,
it definitely was not something I was modeled or was discussed when I was a kid but I think the fascination has always been there with me, even though it felt fearful as a young girl.
So in our home we talk opening and appropriately about the body and our inner seasons.
Today we had 7 girls in circle to talk about their moon cycle, what to expect, the sacredness of their body and the importance of sisterhood and looking after each other. It was so magic, the girls had so many great questions and curiosities.
The maidens learnt that their blood is not scary, yucky or something to be embarrassed about, some were so enthusiastic they made up a song about blood and sisterhood- a reminder that our body’s should be celebrated 🥹
I’ve always found that when running women’s circles you need to be in your feminine, you can’t follow a set structure completely, there needs to be space for fluidity and I just love working this way, in that creative zone.
Today was so special because I got to offer this to my daughter.
This is how will heal our linage, through conversation, through story and presence.
Each maiden left with a moon stone, a self made pearl sisterhood bracelet, an animal card and the knowing that their body is amazing.
Thank you to the mamas for giving your daughters this space to connect with their body and their sisters.
Ovulation
The vibe of this phase is outward expression, think of a luminous full moon in all her juicy glory, she’s here to be seen and take up space. She relates to the season on Summer and the archetype of the Mother.
We know that nutrition, stress, toxins, hormones, environment etc all factor in to our cycle health but sometimes to get to the root cause of our challenges we need to go a bit deeper.
If you experience pain during this time of your cycle, yourself these questions;
•Do I feel confident in my power?
•In what environments do I shrink or feel less than?
•Is it safe for me to be seen?
•Can I take up space l?
•What is my relationship like with pleasure?
•How did your mother respond to you shining or taking up space?
There are so many layers to this phase that can actually shine a light on the resistance we may have to shining our own light and sharing it with the world.
Get curious and kind with yourself to unlock your fullest potential.
We let the layers unfurl through Feminine Rites: 3 Lineage Healing

I went to my chiropractor today and we both laughed when she said “you don’t have a very good poker face” meaning you can clearly see my expression.
Is it that rare now?
To see a woman with a face thats fully expressed?
Is freezing our expressions just another form of suppressing women?
Theres ad and ad of how to look younger and not its only being directed to 40+ women but young girls.
I went to a body image event recently and the women there shared that they wanted to embrace the lines on their face, that they were worried they looked out of place in a fake world. It saddened me as these women were in their 20s and early 30s, a time that should be focused on exploring life not looking “pretty.”
What are we teaching the next generation of women about living when all they see is expressionless faces.
There’s research on the effects on botox/ emotionless faces and the effects on children’s emotional development. There’s also research on botox and the links with auto-immune disease which does not surprise me at all.
Years ago I felt the pressure, I got botox, I hated it, my face didn’t feel like my own, I got headaches and when I looked in the mirror I felt so far from myself, I also had chronic pain and fatigue at the time.
I’ll be 40 this year and I have lines on my face, this is normal but in this current world it doesn’t always feel normal. I worry that in 10 years I’ll look 50 while everyone else my age looks 20 and it’s honestly the dumbest s**t to worry about.
We have become so fearful of ageing when it’s a privilege to.
I want my kids to see the fullness of their mothers expression, I want them to experience the depth of my smile, the lines between my brows when I’m concentrating and my face squish when I laugh and to see when I’m annoyed.
I do not want my daughter growing up believing her womanhood, her body and her expression is something to erase.
Your radiance lives in the lines, the dimples, textures, colours, uneven tones, veins and raw energy that make you woman.

Women still get triggered when they see a woman’s body online.
We call it jealousy, judgement, insecurity and sometimes it is but I think there is something much older living underneath it.
The sister wound is ancient, for generations women learned that visibility could be dangerous, that being seen could lead to punishment, being sensual, powerful, outspoken, messy, raw or fully expressed came with consequences.
I don’t believe all of these reactions belong entirely to us, I think many of us are carrying echoes of the women who came before us.
So when a woman posts a photo of herself radiant, confident, connected to her body, a voice comes through “Who does she think she is?” but beneath that voice there is a frightened voice, a protective voice.
In the past I felt the trigger too, I’ve compared, judged and questioned why a woman felt so comfortable expressing herself when I didn’t. But when I looked deeper I realised it wasn’t really about her, what I longed for was what she embodied.
I wanted to experience that kind of safety in my own body, that kind of sovereignty and freedom and not through an alter ego but by being fully at home within myself.
When I see a woman who is radiant, sensual, alive and deeply connected to her body I don’t feel threatened, I feel inspired, proud and alive🔥
There is something deeply powerful about witnessing a woman who is tuned in, turned on by life and unapologetically at home in her body. Maybe healing the sister wound isn’t about judging the trigger but getting curious about what lives beneath it.
Every time a woman chooses to be seen, she gives other women permission to do the same, not to become her but to show you a mirror to your own radiance.
