Before the post gets too much later, we'd love to reflect on the meaningful learning and experiences we shared during Reconciliation Week.
Although National Reconciliation Week has passed, our commitment to reconciliation continues every day at Goodstart Early Learning Beaumaris.
This year's theme, "Bridging Now to Next," reminds us that reconciliation is an ongoing journey—one that honours the past while working together towards a more respectful and inclusive future.
Throughout the week, our children participated in meaningful experiences that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives through storytelling, art, music, nature, and shared conversations. These learning opportunities encouraged curiosity, respect, and a deeper appreciation of the world's oldest continuing cultures.
At our centre, reconciliation is not limited to one week of the year. It is embedded in our daily curriculum, our relationships, and our everyday practice as we create a culturally safe and inclusive environment where every child feels they belong.
Together, we are ALL IN—learning, listening, reflecting and growing as we continue to walk the journey of reconciliation, today and every day. ❤️💛🖤

Our Beaumaris team had the valuable opportunity to attend a professional development training focused on understanding young people who have experienced trauma and how we can best support and respond to their needs.
The training provided our educators with meaningful insights, practical strategies, and a deeper understanding of trauma-informed practices. It highlighted the importance of creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments where every child feels valued, understood, and empowered to thrive.
