The Formal Dogs Story

Formal Dogs was created in 2008 by expert Canine Educator Ruth Elliott.

With 15 years training and practical experience in the canine chaperoning, dog obedience and behaviour training industry Ruth is able to provide support for dog owners as well as practical training education for you and your dog.

We use modern, effective and humane training methods and work with the individual dog and handler to provide you, your dog’s guardian, with practical and easy to apply training methods that help you to achieve the best outcome for you and your dog.

We are a mobile service and provide in home consultations.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and enjoy creating open communication between ourselves and our customers.

Areas of specialisation:

Canine Chaperones - Your Dog at Your Wedding: If you would like to have your dog at your wedding or other function, we provide a professional service that accompanies your dog on your special occassion.

Breed suitability and assessment: If you would like to know what sort of breed may suit your household, we are able to consult with you either in person or via vphone to discuss suitable breeds and ages for your family

Leashes & Lullabies Program: helping you to ensure that your family is prepared for when a new baby enters your lives and assist to make the transition as easy as possible for your dog.

Dogs and Behaviour: From just general manners, to nuisance barking, or anxiety and fear issues, we can work with you to help your dog feel more relaxed and eliminate problem behaviours

Dogs and Obedience: We are able to show you how to achieve a high standard of practical dog obedience with your dog.
