Huge shout out to everyone involved in the recent Ask Us Anything about Gas & Electrification event in Geelong 💚hosted by Geelong Renewables Not Gas.
Watch the full recording via the link in our bio and learn all about electrification from those in the know.
From the health impacts of gas to electrification and energy justice, it was such a thoughtful and energising conversation.
Special thanks to all the speakers, Jay Gordon, Energy Finance Analyst at IEEFA, Rory Anderson, Policy Advisor for Energy & Cost of Living at Victorian Council of Social Service, Seung Baek, Chair of the Victorian branch of Doctors for the Environment, and our very own Dr Kat Lucas-Healey, our Senior Climate & Energy Advisor. As well as event partners ACF Geelong and Geelong libraries, and everyone who came along and shared ideas, questions and stories.
One attendee even shared they’d be transitioning their home off gas after the event - proof that these conversations matter.

The Vic government wants to artificially engineer the Nyah-Vinifera floodplain & condemn large chunks of iconic Red Gum forest to a slow death 😡
It's dressed up as "environmental protection" ... but the real agenda is to justify reducing environmental flows.
Friends of Nyah Vinifera Park and allies have launched a last-ditch effort to stop bulldozers and they’re calling on the community for more support.

At the last River Peoples’ Forum in 2024, we heard directly from Traditional Owners about how they are caring for river Country – and what’s needed to deliver long-overdue water justice across the Murray–Darling.
This year, Brendan Kennedy and Grant Rigney from Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations (MLDRIN) return to take the conversation further – sharing what’s next in the fight for water justice, and how we can all play a role ✊🏾✊🏼

URGENT CALL FOR HELP from Friends of Nyah Vinifera Park ‼️
Jacquie Kelly and others have been camping at the gate of Nyah-Vinifera Park for a week now in a last-ditch effort to stop bulldozers and machines destroying wildlife, wetlands and Red Gums in this iconic Murray floodplain forest.
Earlier this month, Friends of Nyah-Vinifera Park and Environmental Justice Australia lost their case in the Federal Court to stop the Victorian Government’s dubious wetland engineering scheme there.
Now, they’re calling on the community for more support.
