Admiral McRaven addresses the University of Texas at Austin Class of 2014 18/11/2019

"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. And by the end of the day, that one task completed, will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right. And if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made, that you made. And a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow will be better."

- William H. McRaven

From time to time, we all need support.

And when it comes to international students, it is integral to make these support services known.

RGIT Australia's Student Welfare Team held a session dedicated to reminding students of the importance of maintaining a healthy work, study and life balance last week.

Student engagement and active participation was integral in making the session a success, with students meeting the welfare team and support staff, and learning about the services available to them should they or a fellow student require additional support.

The RGIT Australia team looks forward to similar events in the future, with a focus on facilitating the student settling in process.

The session comes a week following R U OK Day on 12 September.
