CALIBER SECURITY PROVIDING EFFECTIVE CROWD CONTROL
22/03/2026
Hi Melbourne,
This is a thank you.
If you’re in one of those roles where things can turn quickly, or you’re constantly getting emails about “safety first approach” to doing your job. Maybe you’ve had a colleague recently injured by occupational violence.
You could be a nurse.
Journalist
Paramedic.
Hospitality worker
Coles or Bunnings worker.
Lawyer.
Child protection officer.
Tram driver.
There are many more.
Thank you for for doing the work that you do.
Most people wouldn’t notice half of what you’re managing and just because it normal… doesn’t mean it actually is.
It shouldn’t be something you’re carrying on your own.
A safe workplace isn’t a bonus. It should be the baseline.
Anyways, just something worth saying.

If price was the easiest part of your last security decision, this is for you.
You weren’t wrong to look at it.
Most security companies lead with rate.
Most quotes look the same.
Licence. Uniform. Hourly cost.
It feels simple. Security decisions aren’t.
The person at your venue, site, or beside your executive is often the first impression of your business.
They set the tone at the door.
They speak to your staff.
They deal with your clients.
They represent you when something goes wrong.
They also deal with police, ambulance, inspectors, regulators.
Poor communication there creates friction fast.
Every live call they make sits under your name.
When to intervene.
When to step back.
How force is applied.
What gets written down.
Who gets notified.
How outside agencies are briefed.
Those decisions affect your licence.
Your contracts.
Your insurance position.
Your public reputation.
Your personal safety.
If you review your provider, use this.
Start with ownership.
Who owns the company?
Any silent partners?
Any director lose a licence or face disciplinary action?
Who carries legal responsibility if something goes wrong?
Next, staffing.
How are guards selected?
What background checks are done?
How long do they stay?
Who supervises high risk jobs and are they experienced enough to?
What happens if someone doesn’t show?
Then documentation and response.
Ask for a real incident report. Not a template.
Ask how threats are escalated.
Ask how external agencies are coordinated during an incident.
Read the answers carefully.
Price shows cost.
Standards show exposure.
