Gehry’s analog phase is often eclipsed by the later (populist) digital phase. The early work was like a Rauschenberg combine, treating the world as pre-existing readymade objects to arrange in space or over exiting buildings (like his house). We visited him again in his office almost ten years later and he showed us through his model workshop and archive.
