Day 9: What Makes Me Smile

What makes me smile? So many little things stitched with love—like Bhoomika, my very first published pattern.

She was inspired by Mother Earth, and her name means “the one who belongs to the earth.” Every part of creating her felt gentle, joyful, and grounding. And seeing other makers bring her to life? That’s been an unexpected kind of magic.

But the biggest smile? That comes from watching my daughter hug her crochet buddy Autumn—made with my own hands, now worn with love in hers. There’s something priceless about seeing your craft bring comfort and joy to your little one.

It reminds me why I started crocheting in the first place.
