One of the biggest mistakes people make is underestimating how dangerous being wet can be.

If you're wet—whether it's from rain, falling into a creek, or simply sweating—you'll lose body heat up to 4 times faster than if you were dry.

Now add wind.

Standing in the wind can increase heat loss by up to 4 times as well.

Put the two together—wet and windy—and your body starts losing heat incredibly fast. That's how people end up hypothermic in conditions they never thought were dangerous.

Stay dry. Stay out of the wind.

If you do get wet, change into dry clothes as soon as you can, find shelter from the wind, and keep insulating your body.

Survival isn't just about dealing with emergencies.

It's about stopping small problems from becoming life-threatening ones.

A look at the recent at the recent Belfast stabbing and attempted beheading.

Firstly in the video at the start we hear people yelling get off him, he's slitting his throat and yelling for others to hurry up. While yelling can draw attention, which of course is good, the reality in a situation like this is yelling alone won't likely get a committed, adrenaline attacker to simply just see reason and stop, action is required to stop the immediate threat to safety and life.

When people do engage the use of an improvised tool, in this case a stick or paddle of some type isn't a bad option as it allows a few things, for the defender to be able to keep distance and to use the tool to distract and inflict damage.

The use of multiple defenders is great, more people offers more safety for each individual engaging and helps to both overwhelm and overpower the attacker.

Seriously though the person yelling get back off, just shut the f**k up, at this point this person has offered little of any real valuable help and is now encouraging people to do something that will put others in further danger. In situations like this either get all in or get out of the way but don't stay there being a nuisance and telling people to do the wrong thing. Don't be this person, this person is more of a liability than anything else on the scene.

Don't wait for police, unfortunately police can't be everywhere at once and as a general rule predators don't attack at moments of disconvenience to themselves, like say, when police are around. Remember when seconds count, as in this case, and as you can see, police are only minutes away. I don't say this to undermine or attack police but I want you to understand policing in a situation like this is reactive which means the incident is already happening.

In a case like this the best option is to secure the weapon arm firmly as quickly as possible, before attempting any disarms inflict damage to the attacker, this both distracts the attacker, takes their mindset from predator to prey and forces them to now think about protecting themselves and it helps reduce the attackers ability to physically continue the attack. You continue to do this until either the attacker loses the will to carry on and drops the weapon, u til you can safely effect a disarm or until the attacker is incapacitated and unable to physically carry on depending on the situation at the time and what course of action is appropriate based on the offenders behaviour.

This video is spot on.

This is how the far left operate and behave, I've seen and been part of it all far to often.

Then for men when they can't intimidate or engage they'll go the cowardly route and make mass complaints to government agencies who then go about suspending people's licences effecting their employment and hobbies.
