We're delighted to share another positive outcome for our client, who has successfully received a favorable decision from the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) after seeking a review of a Student Visa (Subclass 500) refusal. 🎉

Our client first arrived in Australia as a visitor before deciding to pursue further education. After lodging a Student Visa application in December 2023, the application was refused in June 2024.

Determined to continue their education journey, the client lodged an application for review with the ART shortly after the refusal. The Tribunal commenced considering the matter in early 2026. While waiting for a hearing, the client remained committed to their study plans, and enrolled in a new program to continue building their academic pathway in Australia.

The hearing took place on 1 July 2026, where the client answered the Tribunal's questions and explained his study plans and future intentions. Following the hearing, the Tribunal set aside the original refusal decision, finding that the client satisfied the Genuine Student requirement. ✅

The matter has now been returned to the Department of Home Affairs to continue assessing the remaining visa criteria before a final visa decision is made.
