A newly published study involving researchers at The University of Adelaide, Monash University and New York University has revealed that difficulty finding words - a common symptom people living with multiple sclerosis experience - is closely linked to cognitive impairment. They also found that this problem was not associated with disability level, disease duration, fatigue or depression. This suggests that assessing word-finding difficulties could help monitor changes in cognition in people living with MS.
