We’re upgrading our Solar Emergency Backstop systems to improve performance and stability when connecting new solar devices to the grid.
To support this upgrade, there will be a planned systems outage from 5pm on Sunday 28 June until 8am on Tuesday 30 June.
For solar customers:
• During this planned outage, your solar system will only allow you to export up to 1 kW (default setting) back to the grid.
• Normal exports for affected customers will automatically resume by 12pm on Tuesday 30 June.
• If you’re booked in to have your new solar system installed on 29 June, installation can go ahead but your installer will not be able to connect your device to our system during the outage.
For solar installers:
• No devices can be commissioned during the outage.
• This outage will affect the EnergyConnect portal, so you won’t be able to access solar applications during this time.
• Installations for sites with pre-approval can go ahead. However, you will need to wait until after the outage to register the device through your manufacturer's portal, otherwise additional work will be required.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we carry out this important upgrade and apologise for any inconvenience this outage may cause.

Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds.
Issued at: 4:58 pm on Monday 1 June 2026.
Where:
For people in parts of Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and South West Forecast Districts. Locations which may be affected include Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Falls Creek, Yarra Glen, Dargo and Mt Baw Baw.
When:
Damaging winds developing about central and eastern areas this evening.
Situation:
A deep low pressure system and associated cold front continues to approach Victoria today, with vigorous northwesterly winds expected ahead of the cold front as it crosses the state tonight and into Tuesday morning.
Impacts:
For Central Victoria: Strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with damaging wind gusts of around 90 km/h are likely to develop over the Macedon and Otway ranges and their southern slopes alongside lower lying areas, including the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Additionally, exposed areas around the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas may also see damaging wind gusts to 90 km/h this evening.
For the Northeastern Ranges: Damaging winds averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are likely over elevated areas above 1200 metres from late this evening.
Winds are forecast to ease from central Victoria before dawn on Tuesday, and from the northeastern ranges by late Tuesday morning.
What you should do:
The Victoria State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Be aware - heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when it's windy or wet.
* Check that loose items, such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Stay indoors and away from windows.
* If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways.
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Heavy rainfall may also increase the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
* Stay informed: Monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency website/app/hotline.
Check https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and.../warnings-and-alerts.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Monday.

Thanks to Totally Renewable Beechworth for hosting the Electrify Your Home event last weekend.
We were there to share what the shift from gas to electricity means for households and our network.
With household electrification set to grow 10-fold by 2031, the biggest shift right now is households moving from gas heating to electric.
Great to see so much interest from the Beechworth community. Thanks for having us!
