Bright Labs is looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our team.

With a strong attention to detail and quality, ability to think outside the box and an attitude for continual learning, the role requires you to contribute to the development of several projects.

Reporting to the Lead Delivery Manager, this role will also work closely with other Development and Creative functions to deliver projects to specification. This role offers you the ability to expand your experience in the digital agency landscape and Bright Labs is committed to investing in staff training and your career development.

Required Attributes and Skills

- 4+ years commercial development experience working on websites (preferably in an agency environment)
- Good communication skills with excellent spoken and written English
- Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
- Experience implementing responsive, CMS driven websites
- Experience writing modern PHP (PHP5. PHP7), OO, Unit Testing
- Experience with Laravel framework or equivalent highly regarded
- Experience with version control - ideally Git
- Ability to design and query databases, MySQL preferable
- Developing sites that are SEO friendly and optimised for speed
- Comfortable using SSH
- An eye for detail

You'll also know (though not a strict requirement)

- Data handling, particularly related to user input
- Web Accessibility and Web Standards
- AJAX/XML/JSON

Desirable but not essential

- Relevant IT degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Best practice Search Engine Optimisation techniques
- Experience working with Social Media platforms (OAuth)
