๐ฆ๐บ AUSTRALIA CANโT BE TRULY SELF-RELIANT WHILE DEPENDING ON FOREIGN FUEL
Our farms, trucks, supermarkets and food supply all rely on fuel โ yet Australia remains heavily dependent on overseas refineries and imported supplies.
When conflict, shipping delays or global disruptions occur, Australian families feel the impact through higher transport costs, rising grocery prices and added pressure on local businesses.
A nation that cannot reliably fuel its own farms and freight networks cannot claim to be fully energy secure, food secure or economically secure.
Years of policy decisions, including the push toward net zero, have coincided with the decline of Australiaโs domestic refining capacity and greater reliance on vulnerable international supply chains.
Without stronger fuel security and more domestic capability, Australia will remain exposed whenever the next global crisis hits.
Should Australia rebuild its domestic fuel refining capacity?

Comedian Dave "Hughesy" Hughes has vowed to vote Liberal, launching another blistering attack on the Albanese Government and describing it as an "absolute disgrace."
Hughes says he became disillusioned after what he describes as election "deception" and has since become increasingly critical of the government's handling of the economy and corruption.
The comedian also publicly challenged author Peter FitzSimons to debate the issue, claiming he has received no response because of FitzSimons' close friendship with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Despite the backlash from some critics and fellow comedians, Hughes says he has no regrets. He claims the overwhelming response from Australians has been positive, with many thanking him for speaking out and sharing their frustrations about the direction of the country.

Government's Foreign-Language Home Buyer Ads Spark Political Firestorm
The Albanese Government is facing criticism after launching advertising campaigns in Mandarin and Arabic promoting its first-home buyer assistance program.
The multilingual videos, designed to explain the government's 5% Deposit Scheme, have sparked debate over whether taxpayer-funded advertising should be produced in languages other than English.
Opposition figures and One Nation have questioned the decision, arguing government-funded campaigns should prioritise English-language communication. Some critics also raised concerns about who should be eligible for government-backed housing assistance.
The Federal Government has defended the campaign, saying the advertisements are intended to help eligible Australians better understand the program. Officials say the scheme is available only to Australian citizens and permanent residents, and is not open to temporary visa holders or overseas buyers.
The multilingual advertising forms part of a broader government information campaign aimed at improving awareness of housing assistance programs among culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
The issue has since sparked widespread discussion online, with Australians divided over whether government information should be translated into multiple languages or remain exclusively in English.

๐ฅฌ One Nation says the key to lower grocery prices starts with backing Australian farmers.
The party says too much government red tape is driving up the cost of producing food, and those costs eventually end up at the checkout.
Its plan includes:
โ
Cutting unnecessary regulation
โ
Streamlining approvals
โ
Reducing paperwork and reporting requirements
โ
Removing duplication between different levels of government
โ
Reviewing compliance rules that increase food production costs
One Nation argues farmers should be spending more time producing food and less time dealing with bureaucracy and net-zero paperwork.

Former Today host Karl Stefanovic has launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during an upcoming interview with Piers Morgan, saying he believes Albanese could become "one of Australia's worst prime ministers."
Stefanovic also defended his decision to interview British activist Tommy Robinson, arguing that the public should be free to hear different viewpoints and decide for themselves.
He criticised comments made by Albanese suggesting he had moved away from mainstream media, while Piers Morgan questioned whether the Prime Minister's own appearance on the Bush Deep podcast was any different.
Stefanovic said he has no plans to stop interviewing controversial figures, adding that if people don't like his content, they simply don't have to watch it.
The interview ended with Stefanovic delivering a blunt message to his critics, saying they could "go f*** themselves" as he dismissed the backlash surrounding his departure from Nine.

Albanese Named Australia's Least Popular Serving Federal Politician in New Poll
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has emerged as Australia's least popular serving federal politician in a new DemosAU/Capital Brief survey, following recent controversy over comments he made during a podcast appearance.
The poll, which surveyed 2,694 Australians, found only 25 per cent of respondents viewed Mr Albanese positively, while 47 per cent held an unfavourable opinion, leaving him with the lowest net favourability rating of any serving federal politician measured.
The results come after criticism of Mr Albanese's appearance on the *Bush Deep* podcast, where remarks he made about Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi sparked backlash. While the Prime Minister's Office later expressed regret over the comments, Mr Albanese has not personally issued an apology.
The survey also paints a broader picture of voter frustration, with only a small number of the politicians assessed recording an overall positive favourability rating.
Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie, NSW Premier Chris Minns and Queensland Premier David Crisafulli topped the rankings, while Independent Senator David Pocock, Liberal Senator Jane Hume and Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie also finished in positive territory.
Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison recorded the same overall net favourability score as Mr Albanese, while Treasurer Jim Chalmers and One Nation treasury spokesman Barnaby Joyce also remained in negative territory.
Opposition Leader Angus Taylor finished just below neutral, although many respondents said they were undecided or did not know enough about him to form an opinion.
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson recorded the highest positive approval rating of any federal politician surveyed, with 34 per cent of Australians expressing a favourable view. However, strong opposition from other voters resulted in an overall net favourability rating below zero.
The polling follows a separate Sky News Pulse/YouGov survey that placed One Nation ahead of both Labor and the Coalition on primary vote, although Labor continued to lead on a two-party preferred basis.

One Nation has defended its approach to costing election promises after the party's Treasury spokesman, Barnaby Joyce, said it would make every effort to have its policies independently assessed before the next federal election.
Speaking with Sky News Australia, Mr Joyce said One Nation intends to submit its policies to the Parliamentary Budget Office wherever possible, but argued it does not have the same staffing or financial resources as Labor or the Coalition.
He said it was unfair to expect a minor party to operate under the same conditions as Australia's major political parties, noting they have much larger teams dedicated to developing and costing election commitments.
The comments come after Opposition Leader Angus Taylor criticised One Nation's economic agenda, claiming some of its proposals could increase inflation, place further pressure on interest rates and add to government debt.
Mr Joyce rejected comparisons with the major parties, saying One Nation remains focused on reducing government waste and identifying savings to help fund its policies. He added that policy costings would continue to be refined as financial experts complete their work ahead of the election.
With Australians continuing to grapple with rising household costs, economic management is shaping up to be one of the defining issues in the lead-up to the 2028 federal election.

A peaceful day at Yellowstone National Park turned into a nightmare when an agitated bull bison charged through a campground, launching a visitor into the air in a shocking attack captured on camera.
Witnesses said the man and his grandson had been keeping a safe distance when the bison suddenly turned and charged. Moments earlier, the animal had reportedly rushed toward a group of children before changing direction.
As the man lay injured on the ground, brave bystanders ran toward the bison to distract it, fearing it would return and attack again while emergency crews rushed to the scene.
The victim suffered serious injuries, and his grandson later said his grandfather is "not out of the woods yet."
The incident serves as a stark reminder that Yellowstone's wildlife can be unpredictable and dangerous, even when visitors believe they are keeping a safe distance.
