I wrote Let Me Be in late 2001 when the world was feeling fractured after the world trade centre incident in NYC. I was in Canada at the time and I’d just bought my first Weissenborn slide guitar from a beautiful luthier on Vancouver Island named Neil Russell. The fear that was being spread throughout the world at this time was huge and it seemed to be everywhere.

Time has flown and the world is still mad in so many ways, but still it’s a magical planet, with many pockets to escape the madness. This song has always been a bubble of joy, simple and honest. I still love seeing the smiles it brings… LET ME BE
