Introducing our director Amy Chien-Yu Wang!

Amy is a passionate multidisciplinary theatre-maker, director, playwright, teaching artist, and
career storyteller. Born in Taiwan and a former journalist, Amy’s work explores socially relevant,
provocative, and timely issues. She tells stories with emotional depth and layered complexity,
fostering understanding and inspiring meaningful conversations across communities and
generations.

Founder of Embodi Theatre, Amy has participated in the Playlab Incubator and completed the
Zen Zen Zo Creative Entrepreneurship Internship. She is the creator, lead producer, and
director of the multi-Matilda Award-nominated production AI May and recently directed May
Contain Formaldehyde as part of ASSEMBLY + at La Boite.
